Child-Centered Play Therapy. Philosophy and Praxis of the Approach

Advanced Training Program
Start: October, 2022
Duration: 80 academic hours
Online
This is the unique Russian advanced training program for psychologists in non-directive play therapy approach. The Program is based on the world's best experience and practice of working with children from the leading Russian and foreign experts in play therapy.

Nowadays Child-centered Play Therapy becomes increasingly popular in our country. Unlike adults, children find it very hard to describe their emotions, fears and experiences with words. When immersed in the natural kind of environment — play — children open up faster and in is easier for them to talk about their genuine feelings and get rid of the bothering issue. That is why play therapy is considered a very effective and child-friendly kind of psychotherapeutic aid.

The sphere of Play Therapy application is wide enough, from private practice to working with children in educational and medical institutions. This method is enormously effective in the work with normally developing children, children who are temporarily struggling, children with neurotic disorders and for children with special needs.

One of the important strengths of this program is its practical orientation and deep comprehensive approach to studying this topic. It is not a coincidence that this program allows only in person participation. Classes take place both in the lecturing rooms and specially designed rooms for play therapy with children. The Program combines skills training, case analysis and work with one's attitude.

After the completion of the Program all the graduates will understand the mechanisms of child-centered play therapy action and master basic play therapy skills. Relative compactness of the Program (80 academic hours) is achieved by careful selection of the topics offered and the depth of learning is not compromised.

After the completion of the Program one may have an opportunity of getting professional support from the Play Therapy Association professionals (intervision and supervision).
